It can be challenging with the rainy days and grey skies, but what is good, is that the weather is so shifty, shaping this rough and stunning landscape and making every day a surprise, or every hour...
Mirroring light
In a lot of my larger landscape work, I have developed a method of mirroring the shiftiness of the weather by using metal leaf underneath. With the silver or gold sections in the painting it gives me the ability to "paint” the amazing light we have on top of the stunning landscapes. The painting will thus constantly change and give different expressions depending on your position in the room, incoming light and time of day.
It can go from a grey section in the sky to a sudden bright light.
With my weather paintings, you get a piece that keeps on surprising and plays on the wall just as much as the weather in Sunnmøre does.
